Day 4: Gift ~ Pancake
shaper & pancake mix. Tell the story about the 3 trees that didn't get what they wanted at first. When Jesus got involved their lives turned out better. #1 tree ~ turned into the manager that Jesus Christ was laid in when he was born. #2 tree ~ got to be the ship that Jesus protected in the storm. #3 became the cross that Christ was crucified on.
Day 5: Gift ~ wooden tree ornaments. They each got one to decorate & paint. One of the trees had a spot for a picture. Paris chose a picture of her in her witch hat from Halloween. Marshall had a cowboy hat on. Faith had her bunny outfit on. Pretty cute pics.
Day 6: Gift ~ Candle & porcelain nativity ornament. They are to help us remember Jesus throughout the season & hope that you remember Him all year long. Light the candle & turn out the lights. Enjoy how it feels to sit in a cozy room. It is dark but when you light the candle the room lights up. That is what happens when we let Jesus into our hearts. He lights us up from the inside out. The kids loved lighting the candle & we have been lighting it at dinner ever since.

I like to make something for our friends & neighbors. The kids have been wanting to make peanut butter kiss cookies. It is a super simple recipe & the kids loved them. I also made oatmeal butterscotch cookies. We put these with the remaining cupcakes, candy canes, peppermint kisses, chocolate kisses & gave them out. Paris & Marshall wanted to deliver them to the neighbors, "All by ourselves". They practiced saying, "Merry Christmas & we have cookies for you. Merry Christmas" They were so proud.

The school PTO had a family night at the elementary school. They read the book, "Polar Express" & then had cookies & hot chocolate after. We were running late so missed the reading but at least we didn't miss out on the cookies.
