We had a fun Family Home Evening (FHE) last night. We started with breakfast for dinner (apple cinammon waffles, lemon poppy muffins, scrambled eggs with bacon & cheese). Then we carved pumpkins. Paris didn't like getting the "guts" on her but did a great job with cleaning out her pumpkin. Marshall really didn't like the "guts" but stuck it out & did his best. Faith lost interest pretty quickly but enjoyed getting into everything. Casey did most of the carving with Paris doing the straight lines. Faith Pumpkin = Witch, Marshall = Alien, Paris = Boo Ghost. For the lesson we talked about how we grew the pumpkins (luckily for us we got our pumpkins from the Alpine house garden. We were really thankful that the neighbors didn't take them). How if we didn't pull the weeds (I compared them to bad influcences) that the pumpkins would not grow. So we need to have good friends. They also need to have water, sunshine & fertilizer (eating healthy, exercising & keeping our bodies clean).
We also got the Boo ghost bucket a couple of days ago so we passed 2 more buckets on to the kids friends. They had so much fun ringing the door bell & running. Plus we talked about how good it would make the families feel to get a fun treat.
